CATT-S Part-time Leadership Summer Camp 2026

July 11th & 12, 2026

Local 349 was represented at the CAAT-S PT Leadership Summer Camp in Kingston on July 11 and 12, 2026.

This weekend, part-time representatives from across Ontario came together to learn, share experiences and strengthen the skills needed to support members in their workplaces.

The two-day leadership event focused on practical areas of union representation, including:

Conflict Resolution

Learning how to approach difficult conversations, reduce tension and work toward fair and respectful solutions.

Supporting Members Through Grievances

Building a better understanding of the grievance process and the role union representatives play in supporting members when workplace concerns arise.

Developing Union Leadership

Encouraging part-time members to become involved, build confidence and consider taking on leadership roles within their Locals and the CAAT-S Part-Time Division.

Bringing the Learning Home

Union education gives your Local representatives the knowledge, tools and connections needed to provide stronger support.

The lessons and resources shared during the weekend will be brought back to Local 349 and used to:

  • better assist part-time members with workplace questions and concerns
  • strengthen communication and representation
  • help members understand their rights under the Collective Agreement
  • encourage more part-time members to become involved in their union
  • build connections with part-time representatives at colleges across Ontario

When our representatives learn and grow, our entire membership benefits.

Your Voice Matters

Strong union leadership begins with members who are informed, connected and willing to participate.

Part-time members are encouraged to reach out with questions, workplace concerns or ideas about how Local 349 can better support and engage our part-time membership.

Together, we are building stronger representation for part-time members at Georgian College.
